Goosemas

A Gig poster I just finished up for the band "Goose". Had a lot of fun doing this one. Approached it differently than I have in the past and it worked out. Definitely will have to repeat the process next time. Limited myself in terms of colors and stuck to a defined palette, which was also really helpful. I find that my colors can tend to get away from me if I don't do this.

Christmas Poster 2

Another Collaborative effort. The illustrated elements minus window and background were my contributions here. This is our second year doing these and the Christmas ones are always a lot of fun.

Christmas Concert Poster

Collaborated with a fellow designer on this Christmas Concert Promo for the RMAA. The elf and sign (minus text) was my contribution, as well as detailing in the snow foreground.

Calico Cat

More illustrator practice. Starting the new job Oct 5th, decided to do a play on the name "Calico" and try to incorporate the cat motif for this shirt design...maybe its just a bad pun/idea...I can't tell. Calico in the T-shirt sense means printed on cotton I believe...

Hike NH

More T-shirt graphic practice. Registration marks in corners for screen printing. One color print. Might have taken more time to tinker with the trees but this was a quicky, on to the next one!

EDIT: No registration needed on one color print... screen printing 101...I have a lot to learn and I'm excited about learning it!

Text Practice

Playing around with text in Illustrator. Its something I have ignored for a long time but realizing now if I want to be well rounded I should know how to do stuff like this well.

Final snowmobile graphic

Been working on and off on this for some time. Finally finished with it. It was a challenge in a lot of ways. More of a technical drawing than I'm used to. Definitely a good learning experience.

Archer Penguin

These penguins from Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze crack me up. I had to draw one. It was a strait recreation from reference but it was fun just the same. A good exercise that I find I don't do very often.

Wise Old Tree

An old tree sketch, colored in photoshop. Trying out clipping masks, the fact that I am just discovering how to use these now is crazy. Makes coloring 1,000 times more efficient. I like the way this guy came out. I have some other tree sketches I might post as well.

Final Design

Redesigned the top figure (Hildegard Von Bingen), she wasn't working out and lightened everything up.  I'm much happier with it now.
This is the final design for a concert poster I have been working on. Its theme is "the evolution of women through the years" The four women depicted are Hildegard Von Bingen, Holly Near, Leslie Gore, and Sojourner Truth. There were a lot of separate elements to this design but the process of seeing it come together was very fun even if it was slow at times.

Roses

These roses are one component of a larger poster design but I thought they were pretty by themselves so here they are as three stand alone roses.

Old Man

A  droopy old man. One of my favorite sketches in some time. I had to color him! I'm pleased with the the way I was able to give him a lot of character. I'm particularly fond of his chin area and ears.

All You Need Is Love

I havent posted anything in a while. Part of that is due to an increase in sketchbook work. Completed this project a few weeks ago. My poster illustration for a Beatles themed chorus show.
